Activities
Area activities include Golf, Tennis, Surfing, Sailing and Scuba Diving. Eco-tours of the Indian River Lagoon by Kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board are available, as are AirBoat tours along the Saint Johns River. Antique shops, Restaurants, and small night clubs are just across the river in Historic Downtown Melbourne, and a little further up the road at Historic Cocoa Village. Visit Port Canaveral, the second busiest cruise port in the world, and arrange a day cruise, or watch Cruise Ships while you dine on the catch of the day at a local restaurant. Or just sit in a rocker outside your door, and do nothing.
Just Two and a half blocks to the East, is Ocean Park. While many of our guests prefer to walk to the beach, there is ample parking in the lot at the end of Ocean Avenue.
Just a Half a block to the West is the Historic Melbourne Beach Pier. Originally built in 1889, the pier was once the only way to access the Barrier Island. Enjoy an early morning cup of coffee, as you watch for Manatee, Dolphin, and other wildlife. Or take in an amazing Sunset, from the banks of The Indian River Lagoon.
Billies On The Beach serves THE BEST Burger South of Toronto Canada, North of Belize City Belize, and West of Los Angeles California. Their Chicken Breast Sandwiches ain't half bad either. This isn't "Fast" Food, it is Fresh Food. They cut the potato and drop it in the oil AFTER you've placed your order. You can find fancier... but you won't find better... and you won't find a better value.
Brevard County maintains several Beach Parks within a very short drive of us. Spessard Holland North and Spessard Holland South are the two closest, and least crowded of all the County Beaches. Drive East on Ocean Avenue to the ocean, then South on Highway A1A, and you'll find both parks conveniently located just a few miles from us.
Just a Block and a half East of us is The Melbourne Beach Market, which has been a landmark for many years in the Melbourne Beach community. In April 1999, Charlie Zubi and his family moved to Melbourne from Chicago to run the Market. Charlie , a strong family man with a deep commitment to both community and quality has created a Market like no other in Brevard County. Locals know him as “Charlie” and are on a first name basis with him. Everyone that shops at his market is treated like Family.
One of the best little Ice Cream stores you will find anywhere, just happens to be two blocks East of us, in the Melbourne Beach Shopping. Sundaes At The Beach has an amazing assortment of delicious Hershey's Ice Cream, along with Gellatto, Custom Sundaes, Smoothies, Shakes, Lemonade, and Italian Ice. Stop in on your way to the Beach, AND on your way back home.
